Technical Assistance Grants for Business
Thanks to a $99,000 USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG), Community Capital will soon be offering technical assistance grants through its Management Assistance Program (MAP) on a competitive basis to eligible and qualified businesses. Regardless of whether the applicant is an individual business or a group, the participating businesses do not have to be Community Capital borrowers. Businesses can apply for up to $2,500 and formal or informal groups of businesses can apply for up to $5,000 to purchase consulting services that advance their individual or shared business goals. Funds must be fully disbursed by July 31, 2011. Individual businesses or groups of businesses (business associations, loose affiliations, networking groups, etc) must meet the following criteria:
* 51% US-owned
* less than $1 million in gross revenues
* fewer than 50 employees
* located in the following Vermont counties: Addison, Caledonia, Essex, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orange and Washington
* contribute at least 26% of the total project cost in the form of cash match from a non-federal source or in-kind contributions from the consultant
