Greetings Burlington BPW members/friends!

It is New Year’s Eve as I sit and write to you. The holiday season passed in a flash, and tomorrow will be the first day of 2010. It's the first day of the year, a time when we remember the year that's past, make resolutions, plan for the year ahead, and, maybe, just have fun!

Looking ahead our L.O. will be reviewing fundraising efforts and membership. Our fundraising committee will be offering some new and some old ideas, and I urge you to volunteer some ideas of your own. We will begin a membership drive through letters to women who expressed interest during the fall of 2009. Our State BPW revamped their By-Laws, and we will be starting the process in our L.O. We will discuss collecting membership dues collectively and annually once a year rather than on an individual basis throughout the year.

Looking back, it was a year of losses and change. It was also a year of ongoing support, strength, and courage from members to members and to our community in the true spirit under which BPW was launched.

Finally, as for resolutions, I hope that we will all resolve to work together to be the best BPW we can be and have a whole lot of fun doing it!

Our next board meeting is Wednesday, January 6; and our next business meeting and dinner is Wednesday, January 13. See you there, and Happy New Year!
