2006 Burlington BPW Scholarship Report

On Wednesday, August 16, 2006, the Burlington BPW Scholarship committee met to review the applications and make selections for recipients to receive our scholarships. The committee consisted of: Barbara Kaufman, Maria Milliken, Denise Perraudin, Jen Nachbur, Jen Cardinal, and Marie Eddy. VSAC had sent twelve application packets for the Science & Technology Scholarship, and six for the Single Parent scholarship. Reading through the packets and discussing, three recipients for the Science & Technology were chosen and one for the original Burlington Business and Professional Women’s scholarship, for a total of four $1,000 scholarships.

The recipients chosen are:

Colleen Moran, who is a medical student at the University of Vermont’s College of Medicine

Elizabeth Fox, who is looking to obtain a degree as a Registered Nurse from Norwich University

Katherine Roome, who is majoring in nursing at Vermont Technical College

Charity Kivela, who is majoring in Business Management at the Community College of Vermont

(The Burlington Business and Professional Women Science and Technology Scholarship is designed for women persuing advancement or a career change by achieving certification or a degree in the field of science or technology.)
